 Has anyone experienced an incessant drone in their flat ? Coming home from work this evening it has mercifully gone away!

If the noise is in the flat maybe best to have it checked out just in case it's something electrical.
But it could be something out in the street - like machine for vacuuming leaves or snow gritter.
