Greetings from an ex-pat, ex-Dolphin Square person.
I visit friends in the square from time to time but they do not have a computer or internet access and I was wondering is there WiFi access in the residential part of the square for my laptop? I realise that it is provided in the hotel part but wondered if that extended outwards at all.

And a reply from another ex-Dolphin Square person ..
AFAIK there is wifi in the Bar and Grill - they will give you a password if you buy a drink!! Most of the networks available as you might wander about are financed by residents, and locked.
Regards and give the place a wave from me.

Maybe just wonder around the square until you find a tenant who is silly enough to have unprotected WiFi....

LOL. Yes I could do that, although these days anyone who has done that needs their heads examining.
There's always the Internet Cafe near the tube station.

I don't think having an open wi-fi connection is silly. The reason that ISP spread scare stories is they don't want several people using one source when they can charge for more.
Mind you, we could pool our service and have one wi-fi server serving one house or part of a house and pay Virgin Media less. We'd just split the wi-fi bill.

It might matter if there were caps on usage per whatever contract one has.

Well, it's all moot now as my host in the square just died. Very sad.
