Having just stumbled across this blog, I thought I would take the opportunity to ask those in the know some pointers for a new tenant. I will be moving into the Square in a few weeks and would appreciate your insider knowledge....

1) before arranging virgin media to come to sort out the cable for the tv, consider if you want them to do the broadband and the phone as well, because you only get one visit free! Also they only do installs on Tuesday and Saturday mornings and you need to book well in advance. (There will be an incoming calls only line already in the flat)
2) if you need help, there are lots of very supportive people around who will help you if you just ask.
3) you can sort a lot of things out on Westminster.gov.uk and other sites (dvla, tv licence) before you move in.
4) make up a sign for your car with your address and mobile number in case you need to offload stuff. Otherwise you may get clamped!
5) get involved. Its not just a home; its a way of life.
