**Sorry, I think this is probably in the wrong forum **
Good morning all!
Myself, my brother and my partner have all, very recently, moved into the square.
The few moments we've had to enjoy the views and facilities, outside of the relentless moving and unpacking, we've really enjoyed.
There are a few things we've noticed though;
There doesn't seem to be anything in the way of an information pack, or point of contact. This makes finding the relevant information and resolving of issues fairly difficult, as I'm sure you can appreciate.
I managed to get the number of maintenance from the key office, currently we only have a phone in the external line, so I plugged it into the internal line and made a call to extension 2, leaving my name, flat number and house, along with my mobile number for contact.
There is a slight leak under the kitchen sink and the bathroom light needs some basic wiring, both of which I've arranged to be seen tomorrow and are not especially urgent.
However, the windows, all of which opened easily upon moving in, some week and a half ago, are all now totally jammed in the sills. I'm would say I have more than enough upper body strength to deal with a poultry window under normal circumstances, but they will not budge! So much so that I fear damaging the frame with the exertion I'm having to place on them.
So, very fascinating thus far I'm sure, but to the point. When I was rung back by maintenance this morning I asked if it was possible to arrange a time for them to visit, so that I could be in, and point out any issues and, as we still have unpacking to do, to clear any spaces required. The lady on the phone sounded quite put out and told me it would be very inconvenient for them to arrange a time, and that the windows would be seen when they get round to it.
Have I gone about this in the wrong fashion?
On the one hand, I can appreciate it's a large complex, and there will only be so many resources to hand, but on the other hand, we are not able to open any of the windows, and with the current weather the heat and stuffiness in the flat is reaching unbearable.
I suppose, in summary, I'd like to know if I should approach further problems in a different manner, and whether anybody else is having problems with their windows; my best guess is that the heat and heavy rain may have warped the wood, jamming it into the frame.
Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated
