Westbrook has abandoned its attempt to secure the freehold of Dolphin Square.In a move that took the property world and the City by surprise, at 6.00pm last Monday (16 February) the global real estate private equity firm, gave up its fight to buy the freehold of the Square. Westbrook had been trying to compel Friends Provident to sell the freehold under provisions laid down in The Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002. Westbrook were scheduled to face freeholder Friends Provident in the High Court next Monday. But when DolphinTimes’ legal affairs reporter called the court to find out the time of the hearing, he was told the matter had been settled.
