Just in case anyone is wondering about the lack of TV:
According to the person I spoke to at VM, there is apparently a general 'outage' affecting TV in most of the London area, the engineers are working on it, but they've no idea when it will be fixed.
It took me six calls, with two mis-transfers and a cut-off to manage to get this, so hopefully posting it here will save some other people having to jump through the same hoops!

The television service came back at about 11.30. In plenty of time for the Lions' match.
The breakdown was Londonwide so despite what our Help Desk said it wasn't confined to "various flats". While we accept that breakdowns happen, it would the helpful if the Help Desk could find about a problem when it happens and give tenants the correct information. They need to be more proactive when they hear of a VirginMedia breakdown.
That would be helpful to everyone.

Contacts with the Help Desk when previous breakdowns have taken place indicates to me that they try and be helpful but don't appear to know who to contact about what is happening. I have found out for myself from Virgin Media which in itself can be very confusing. TheHelp Desk , however, should be instructed in the correct procedure to be able to provide tenants and visitors with accurate information.
