Just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing problems with their virgin internet service over the past few days. The internet seems unusally slow, and there also seems to be connectivity problems as every 5 mins or so I lose the connection for a very brief period. Not sure whether it's a problem with my computer or the internet service!

Sorry to say that mine's been rock solid for 3.5 years. I haven't noticed any outages, or even speed drops, but I'm not usually online at 5 in the morning - you early bird you!

I have noticed the odd slow down on the Virgin service in the Square. But I stress it is odd. Usually, it is excellent. Some of my email has been slow of late but I suspect that is my provider (not Virgin) as it has been slow when I access it using other ISPs outside the Square.
The other thing to remember about the internet is that is appears to slow a bit whenever the US military or NASA are doing something big . I guess they steal all the bandwidth.
For the record, Virgin Media broadband is regularly voted the best in readers' polls in IT mags.
